White Glass Shade

A white glass shade is a unique home decorating accessory. The purpose of using a white glass shade is different from all other types of glass shades. In this type of lamp glass shade a diffused milk glass is sometimes used so that the light emitting from the glass shade is diffused and not direct.

This type of design has many advantages in interior spaces. Firstly due to diffused nature of light very even type of lighting is achieved in the interiors. The light coming out is soothing to the eyes and not harsh.

One more advantage of this is that depending upon the type of light source used in the lamp stand the final effect on the interiors will greatly differ. If a standard incandescent bulb is used which normally emits yellow sort of light then the diffused light will be more lemon colored. On the other hand is you use a new kind of LED which emits white light then the effect is much more brighter than normal.

White glass light shades are available in all sorts of sizes and shapes for a variety of lamp covers such as lamp posts, ceiling fan light glass shades, hanging lamp shades, standard table lamp shades. Depending upon which design you are looking for the price ranges areĀ  $25 to $200 and above.

I checked a few online markets for white glass shades and I found that many design are available to use in office as well as home interiors. You will find “bell” shaped white glass shades with plain finish or a corrugated finish.

Before you select the right kind of white glass shade make sure that the rest of the interior design theme allows you to use such type of shades. If your interior design theme is of contemporary type or modern type then you must look for designs, which have fewer curves and more of straight and definite shapes. On the other hand an oriental interior design theme allows more use of decorative patterns on all sorts of accessories including white glass shades.
